Have your say on the future of Diglis Fields
Residents of Diglis are to be asked for their views on how ?700,000 should be spent on enhancements to Diglis Fields.
Worcester City Council has got together with the Friends of Diglis to launch a consultation on how the cash should be spent.
Some of the ideas so far include building and improving the play area, installing outdoor gym equipment, expanding the model railway site, commissioning a piece of public art, information boards exploring the site?s social history, tree and bulb planting, improving the fencing and installing new benches.
The consultation will be launched at an open meeting organised by the Friends of Diglis on Tuesday September 10 from 7pm in Cheeky Monkey?s play centre, 13 Orchard Street, Worcester WR5 3DW.
Details of other consultation events will be announced in the very near future.
Jane Brack, Chair of the Friends of Diglis, said: ?This is a great opportunity for local people to have a lasting influence on improvements to one of the loveliest parts of Worcester.?
Cllr Matthew Lamb, Worcester City Council?s Cabinet Member for a Cleaner and Greener City said: ?This is a significant amount of money and now is the perfect time to influence how it could be used to make lasting improvements to this stunningly beautiful area.?
The ?700,000 is Section 106 funding ? money which developers in the area contribute to support local facilities.
