Finally nothing to do with the Diglis River lock gates but a photo of the Severn Spry being craned out of the inner basin on its way to be restored.

I remember this event well. The Spry was on the bottom of the diglis basin for many years until it's importance was realised.

She was recovered as a rotting hulk from the Diglis canal basin on the river Severn at Worcester, in early 1982.

I understand that she is moored at the Ironbridge Gorge now.
