I spotted a red kite above the reserve at 8am today.(Monday Bank Holiday).I know we have buzzards regularly,but this was a red kite with its distinctive forked tail.I watched them down in Wales last year,so they're fresh in my memory.
One was seen on the reserve some years ago,but I'm not aware of any sightings since.
Todays kite didn't stay long as it was mobbed by two crows.Hope it returns.......
