I see that Cherry Orchard local nature reserve has been granted protected status under the QE fields challenge.
Good. Really pleased.Cock a hoop etc!  :)

CONGRATULATIONS to all those who have worked their cotton socks off making this derelict piece of land in the Digls area, to what is now a beautiful nature reserve. I applaud you.

I'm also delighted that Cherry Orchard Nature Reserve has been chosen by the City Council as one of the eight parks and open spaces, in the City, to be adopted under the Fields in Trust, QEII scheme, celebrating the Queen's Jubilee.

It was hoped that all would be in place by the end of March,but I'm still waiting to hear details.There will be an information board too,so a bit of groundwork has to be done by the wildlife rangers before the official ceremony and photos.
